CTUAP is a central university established in 2019, which is located in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. It administers from a transit campus in Kondakarakam Village under Andhra University until its permanent campus is fully constructed.  The university aims mainly to serve tribal communities and offers a mix of undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated, diploma, and certificate programs. It further aims to foster knowledge through education and ensure full support to students in all aspects of their academic and personal needs. It is fully funded by the Central Government through UGC, and its governance follows the Central Universities Act (Amendment) 2019.

  • The government has allocated 451.73 acres of land for the permanent campus at Chinamedapalle / Marrivalasa villages.
  • The first phase of construction (hostels, classrooms, labs) has been funded and planned with central government support. Approximately Rs. 834 crore has been sanctioned overall, with part released.
  • Introduction of modern courses such as Artificial Intelligence, integrated honours programs, etc., which are often rare in newly established tribal universities.
