Central University is a central university located in the lavish greenery of Dharamshala, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The university was established in 2009 under the Act of Central Universities. The university aims to foster knowledge through education and research. It has been accredited with an A+ rating by NAAC, and it became the first university to achieve this distinction. It has two different temporary campuses situated in Dehra and Dharamshala. The university also provides a wide array of programs, while focusing on interdisciplinary studies and practical exposure.

Eligibility Criteria
Admission to the university follows a proper process, which varies through different program levels and mainly through the national entrance exams.
Eligibility varies depending on the course, but generally, a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks from a recognised university is required for postgraduate programmes. For undergraduate programmes, the basic requirement is usually a 10+2 qualification with a specified percentage, also from a recognised board.
Specific subject prerequisites may also apply depending on the chosen field of study.
Admission Process
The admission process is generally conducted online, and it is mainly based on entrance examination scores.
- The primary mode of admission for most UG and PG students is only through the (CUET) Common University Entrance Test. The students have to register properly for their appearance in the exam.
- After the CUET results are announced, the candidates must visit the official website of the CUHP to fill out the form.
- The university then prepares the merit list, which is based on the CUET scores. The list will also determine their ranking.
- The candidates have to submit the fees and must complete the document verification process.
Financial Assistance or Scholarships
· To help worthy and underprivileged students, CUHP provides several financial aid programs and scholarships.
· Financially disadvantaged students may be eligible for full or partial scholarships as part of the university’s merit-based PG Fellowship program.
· Additionally, there is a scholarship for academic excellence of up to ₹10,000 annually.
· Students can also apply for government scholarships like the Merit-cum-Means Scholarships and the Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship.
