 Ans. North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) is a Central University in India, established on 19 July 1973 by an Act of Parliament, mainly to serve the North-Eastern region. 

Q2. Where are its campuses, and what is the jurisdiction?

 Ans. NEHU has main campuses in Shillong (Mawkynroh-Umshing) and another campus in Tura, both in Meghalaya. Its jurisdiction includes affiliated colleges in the surrounding region.
