Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University (SSCTU) is the newestCentral University to be located in Mulugu district, Telangana, is intended for the upliftment of the tribal population focusing on quality higher education inclusively. It gets its inspiration from the tribal deities Sammakka and Sarakka, who represent knowledge and the strength of the university. As the university has just started, SSCTU has not yet received recognition in NIRF 2024, and is focusing its efforts to attain recognition from the country in the area of research and in the areas of social upliftment and community service.

Admission Process for Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University

• Undergraduate courses are offered through CUET (UG) for admissions.

• Candidates are required to apply through the Central University Admission Portal.

• Reservation policies for undergraduate courses shall be strictly based on Government of India norms for ST, SC, OBC and EWS categories.

• Seat intake for 2025-26: 25 seats for B.A. English and 25 seats for B.A. Economics.

• The application process shall consist of Online registration, score submission from CUET and document verification.

• Counseling and merit list made during the admission process will be submitted by SSCTU admission committee.

Facilities and Campus Infrastructure at SSCTU Telangana

• At the present time, we operate from a temporary campus located at Jakaram Village, Mulugu.

• Construction of a permanent campus is underway on 335 acres of land given by the Telangana Government.

• Buildings and supporting structures will be constructed for academic blocks, labs, and a digital classroom.

• Hostel facilities and a campus with student amenities will be constructed next. 

• The campus will be built thoughtfully and with a focus on sustainability to the greatest extent possible within the framework of green building initiatives.

• In addition, we will also have an opportunity for a Sports Complex, Cultural and Arts Center, and Tribal Heritage Museum.

Research and Tribal Development Initiatives at SSCTU

• The Center for Tribal Studies and Policy Research was set up.

• Joint projects with IITs and other Central Universities were planned as collaboration.

• Ethnographic research, traditional medicine, and indigenous art forms were the main focus.

• Women’s empowerment and rural entrepreneurship were promoted among tribal communities.

• Climate resilience and sustainable practices in tribal regions were the subjects of research encouraged.
